The Invisible Museum's
Curator-In-Residence program provides opportunities for curators
to become familiar with artists, arts organizations, museums,
and art programs at Colleges and Universities in specific markets
worldwide.
Briefly stated, the Curator-In-Residence is selected from proposals
submitted to the Invisible Museum. After a selection process,
the invited curator is then provided with travel expenses, housing,
and a stipend for expenses while in residence. Throughout their
residency, the curator is exposed to the art assets of the region
through artists' studio visits, panel discussions and meetings with
regional curators and gallery directors.
At the end of the
residency, the curator has acquired a understanding of the region's
art community and is expected to produce an exhibit that will
travel to that curator's home region or institution. Conversely,
the curator will produce a second exhibit of artists from his or her
home region that will travel to the temporary residence and
will be exhibited at a site chosen by the Invisible Museum.
